Baby Jesus stolen from nativity scene, but thief returns it just in time for Christmas with remorseful apology

A baby Jesus figurine has been stolen from a Nativity site in Colorado. But the alleged thief felt immense guilt for his inappropriate actions and returned the baby Jesus just before Christmas with a moving apology for his sins.

December 17th, Fort Collins Police Department notified A baby Jesus figurine was reported stolen from an Old Town Square in Colorado, about 90 miles north of Denver.

“I'm so sorry. I made a stupid mistake in this moment and I won't do it again.”

“The Grinch tried to ruin Christmas by stealing the baby Jesus from the Nativity scene in Old Town Square,” the Fort Collins Police Department said in a statement.

Police have attached a photo of the suspect in question in hopes that the public will identify the alleged “Grinch.” The suspect seen in police screenshots is a white male teenager.

On Dec. 19, the Fort Collins Police Department noted that the baby Jesus statuette was turned in just in time for Christmas Day.

“The Baby Jesus figurine that was reported stolen four days ago from the Nativity scene in Old Town Square was dropped off anonymously today at Poudre Fire Station 1 in Fort Collins with a written apology,” Fort Collins Police Department announced. statement.

The suspect of the theft begged for forgiveness, saying, “I am truly sorry. I made a stupid mistake at this moment. I will never do the same thing again.''

The Fort Collins Police Department added, “We have no further information regarding the person who stole the statuette.”

Local firefighters were also seen posing with baby Jesus figurines.

The statuette appears to be undamaged, according to photos released by local authorities.

The company that maintains the Nativity site has reportedly declared that it does not want to press charges against the suspects. Associated Press.
