Supreme Court Justice Receives Concert Tickets from Bad Bunny’s Record Company

Supreme Court Justice Sonia Sotomayor received concert tickets valued at over $4,000 from Rimas Entertainment, the record label of superstar rapper Bad Bunny, according to her financial disclosure released on Monday.

The tickets, which totaled $4,333, were given to Sotomayor for a concert during a personal trip to Puerto Rico in August 2025. She noted this in her disclosure statement, mentioning it was for her and her guests.

Rimas Entertainment, based in Puerto Rico, was established by Bad Bunny’s long-time manager, Noah Assad, and represents several prominent Latin music artists. However, it remains unclear if the tickets were specifically for a Bad Bunny concert or another performance organized by Rimas.

Interestingly, Bad Bunny had multiple performances in Puerto Rico throughout August 2025, coinciding with Sotomayor’s visit. She has roots in the Bronx but was born to Puerto Rican parents.

Messages seeking comments from both Rimas Entertainment and the Supreme Court representatives went unanswered.

Earlier this year, Bad Bunny’s halftime performance at Super Bowl LX garnered considerable backlash, leading to numerous complaints to the Federal Communications Commission (FCC). Viewers described the performance as “pornographic” and “vulgar,” deeming it inappropriate for children.

Critics raised concerns about his selection as halftime entertainment even before the game, citing his lyrics and predominantly Spanish songs.

In response to the negativity, Turning Point USA organized an “All American Halftime Show,” but despite the controversy, Bad Bunny’s performance drew an astounding 128.2 million viewers, becoming one of the most-watched halftime shows ever.

Sotomayor isn’t the first Supreme Court justice to receive concert tickets. In 2024, Judge Ketanji Brown Jackson reported receiving nearly $4,000 worth of tickets from Grammy-winning artist Beyoncé Knowles-Carter.

This recent financial disclosure was filed by eight out of the nine justices, with Justice Samuel Alito requesting an extension for filing.

These disclosures are meant to outline any external income, gifts received, and investments by the justices. Notably, Brown Jackson reported the highest external income last year, earning almost $1.2 million in book advances, while Justices Amy Coney Barrett and Neil Gorsuch reported approximately $850,000 and $300,000 in book royalties, respectively.
