Mama makes sourdough bread on international flight
Maria Valardel, a mother of five, recently took a trip from Dallas, Texas, to Barcelona, Spain, where she made sourdough bread aboard the plane. A video on TikTok shows her mixing, folding, and fermenting the dough. It’s quite a sight!
A new gluten-free bakery in Fork, Utah, has issued a recall for 16 items, including various breads and cookies due to undeclared allergens. These products might contain eggs, soy, and milk—ingredients that, according to the FDA, could trigger severe allergic reactions in susceptible individuals.
The recall was prompted after several items were distributed without accurate labeling, which failed to mention the presence of these allergens. In total, eggs were found in all 16 recalled items, while milk appeared in seven, and soy in five.
The recalled products include:
- Artisan’s white bread (egg)
- Artisan Multigrain bread (egg)

- Frost Sugar Cookies (eggs, milk, soy)
- Coconut macaron cookies (eggs, milk, soy)

- Veteran Crater croutons (eggs, milk)
- Seasoned bread crumbs (eggs, milk)
These products were labeled as “gluten-free” and carried the new grain brand name. They were distributed in Utah between April 7th and April 21st.
The packaging includes clear vacuum-sealed plastic bags for the bread and croutons, while cookies were in regular clear plastic bags. The labels come in various colors like red, purple, orange, blue, green, or pink.
No illnesses have been reported, but customers who have bought any of the recalled products should not consume them and are advised to return them for a refund.
