Baltimore Man Charged in Convenience Store Clerk’s Murder

A man from Baltimore is facing serious charges, including first-degree murder and multiple armed robbery counts, following a crime spree that lasted nine days and resulted in the death of a convenience store clerk.

The Baltimore Police have arrested 52-year-old Brian Burrows in connection with the shooting death of Khaled Saleh Mohamed Al-Shariqi, who was killed during a robbery on February 13. Burrows has been indicted on 21 charges across three different cases related to incidents occurring on February 6, 13, and 15.

Among the charges are one count of first-degree murder, three counts each of armed robbery and first-degree assault, as well as allegations of using a firearm in a violent crime and inflicting bodily injury with a handgun. There are additional charges, including reckless endangerment, theft, and discharging a firearm, along with two counts each of robbery and second-degree assault.

According to police, officers responded to a shooting report around 9:30 a.m. on February 13 and discovered a 36-year-old male victim with a gunshot wound to the torso. This individual was later identified as Al-Shariqi and was transported to a hospital, where he succumbed to his injuries.

Surveillance footage has shown Burrows approaching Al-Shariqi at the counter, brandishing a gun, and making demands before firing the weapon fatally. Investigators utilized facial recognition technology to ultimately identify him as a suspect in the case.

Just two days after the shooting, another armed robbery was reported at Family Grocery and Tobacco Co., located about a half-mile from the scene of the February 13 incident. Witness statements and video evidence were instrumental in linking Burrows to both the robbery and the fatal shooting.

Burrows was apprehended on February 19 at his home in Linden Heights after detectives executed a warrant. He was subsequently taken to a detention facility for processing.

Interestingly, records also indicate that Burrows had a probation violation warrant from September 2025 from a previous armed robbery case, for which he had received a sentence of 20 years in prison, suspended for 13 years, with supervised probation until his release.

Currently, Burrows is being held without bail as authorities contend with the ongoing murder and robbery charges. His probation violation stemming from the earlier case remains unresolved.
