Former NBA player Charles Barkley told CNN’s “King Charles” on Wednesday that black people wearing merchandise associated with former President Donald Trump’s mugshot are stupid as hell.
Co-host Gayle King said, “I don’t know if you know or not, but normally we sit here and it’s not news, but last week, Charles, you know or not… I don’t know, but I know that a comment you made on the last show made the news.”
“If I see a black person walking around with a mug shot of President Trump, I’m going to punch him in the face,” Barkley said last Wednesday.
Berkeley said: “First of all, obviously, I’m not going to keep punching strangers in the face, first and foremost. Second, people can vote for whoever they want. People can vote for whoever they want. You can vote. The point I was trying to make, no, the point I was trying to make was not what I was trying to make — when Donald Trump compares his plight to the plight of black people. , that’s what I had a problem with.”
He continued, “Now, I want to say this. I want to be absolutely clear: If you’re black and you’re wearing a Donald Trump mugshot, you’re a fucking idiot. And I’m just saying stupid things because they won’t let me say what I really want to say. But I can figure it out. It starts with an F.”
Mr Barclay added: “I stand by what I say. If you’re wearing a Trump mugshot, you’re a fucking idiot.”
Dr. King said, “But I’m not just going to randomly attack people in the street. That’s the only point I wanted to make.”
“If only I hadn’t been wearing President Trump’s sneakers,” Barclay said.
