Bass Knew of Fire Risk Before Abandoning L.A. for Ghana Trip

Los Angeles Mayor Karen Bass knew there was a significant fire risk in the city before she abandoned it for a taxpayer-funded “diplomatic” trip to Ghana, West Africa There are multiple reports.

Thursday, January 2nd: “The National Weather Service has clearly warned Los Angeles of “extreme fire conditions'' over the next week.

Thursday, January 2nd: “U.S. Forest Service meteorologist Jonathan O'Brien spoke with officials and publicly posted about the looming threat.”

Thursday, January 2nd: “Mr. O'Brien noted that weather models in Southern California are pointing to a “very strong wind event in Santa Ana beginning Tuesday, January 7.''

Friday, January 3rd: “Rose Schoenfeld, a meteorologist with the National Weather Service's Los Angeles office, warned in a briefing that the lack of rain and expected strong winds this winter pose an imminent threat.''

Saturday, January 4th: The National Weather Service in Los Angeles warned that “a fire weather watch and high wind watch will be in place from Tuesday through Friday next week.”

Saturday, January 4th: Karen Bass flew to Africa to attend the inauguration of Ghanaian President John Dramani Mahama.

Monday, January 6th: Gov. Gavin Newsom (D-CA) has initiated “emergency preparations for anticipated fire hazards.” Additional firefighting resources (helicopters, personnel, etc.) were dispatched to Southern California because he expected the fierce winds to ignite wildfires.

Monday, January 6th: The bus remains in Ghana.

Monday, January 6th: of Los Angeles Times warns that “unusual 'life-threatening and destructive' winds pose a risk of winter fires and power outages to Southern California.”

Monday, January 6th: The bus remains in Africa.

Monday, January 6th: The National Weather Service knows what's coming and issues the following warning: Widespread, life-threatening and destructive storms are expected across much of Los Angeles/Ventura from Tuesday afternoon into Wednesday morning. ”

Monday, January 6th: Karen The bus remains in Africa.

Tuesday, January 7th: Los Angeles has been hit by a fire that has killed multiple people. Thousands of homes and businesses burn. Tens of thousands of people have been forced to evacuate. The fire hydrant runs out of water.

Tuesday, January 7th: Karen Bass remains in Ghana.

Wednesday, January 8th: Wildfires will get worse. Vast areas of Los Angeles look as if they have been hit by a nuclear bomb. The city lacks manpower and water, and evacuations are necessary. Another fire broke out.

Wednesday, January 8th: Mayor Bass finally showed up around noon California time, but refused to answer any questions…

This has to be one of the most tragic voting results in our history.
