In a segment of an interview that aired Friday on “The Issue Is,” Congressman Ro Khanna (D-Calif.) asked Disney CEO Bob Iger to replace Karen Bass in Los Angeles. “We need a new leader,” he said, calling on him to serve as mayor. in California and these cities. ” and “Los Angeles certainly needs dynamic leadership.”
Kanna said.[W]Bob Iger should run for mayor of LA. He is someone I know well. He is the leader of Disney. He is a remarkable person. He was thinking of running for president. …And we need new leadership for California and these cities. Bob Iger would be phenomenal. It's going to be a huge rebuild in Los Angeles, and I'm hoping he can do it.”
He added, “I was rooting for you. [Bass] first time. …I'd rather meet Bob Iger now. It's a moment of crisis. I think Iger has the business leadership and the ability to do something new to help with the redevelopment. You know, we have to prepare that city for the 2028 Olympics. …I want new leadership for the entire state of California. But Los Angeles certainly needs dynamic leadership. ”
