Retailer Bath & Body Works has apologized and removed holiday-themed candles from shelves after online users highlighted the label as reminiscent of the Ku Klux Klan's signature white hood. I'm in a hurry to remove it.
Columbus, Ohio-based company known for personal care and home fragrance productshas apologized to those offended after the product label for its Snowed In candles was incorrectly compared to a white supremacist group formed after the Civil War.
The label features a close-up shot of snowflakes, set against a maroon-like background, highlighting the product's winter theme.
However, some social media users said the snowflakes look like some of the white conical hoods worn by the group, each with two holes, resembling eye holes. said.
“At Bath & Body Works, we listen to our team and customers and are committed to correcting even unintentional mistakes like this one,” a spokesperson for Bath & Body Works said. a representative told FOX News Business. “We apologize to anyone we offended, are working quickly to remove this item, and are evaluating our process going forward.”
Some social media users referred to the candle as a “Crandle,” while others wondered how the label ended up on store shelves in the first place.
“This is more than just a branding mistake. It's a reminder of how sensitive cultural symbols can be,” one X user asked. “Let's hope they take this as a lesson in awareness and responsibility.”
But others complained about how easily people get offended.

“What this reminds us of is how completely ridiculous people who are overly offended are, and how they see 'racism' in everything. I miss the days when idiots like that were laughed at and ignored,” wrote another X user.
Bath & Body Works received funding in 1990 and became an independent public company in August 2021.
The company currently has more than 1,850 company-operated Bath & Body Works stores in the United States and Canada, according to its website.
The company recorded revenue of $7.4 billion in 2023.
