Massachusetts State Police say a man who was dragged by a bear after a car crash is likely dead at the time.
State Police spokesman Dave Procopio said in a statement that first responders found a man outside a car in Hatfield Sunday morning and saw a bear in nearby woods.

According to a preliminary investigation, earlier that day, driver Daniel Ducharme, 31, of South Hadley, was traveling southbound on Route 91 when he lost control of his vehicle, struck a guardrail multiple times and ended up on an embankment.
