Bears' Ben Johnson faces backlash for rude comments

Controversy Surrounds Bears Coach Ben Johnson’s Post-Game Comments

ESPN analyst Dick Vitale expressed his disapproval of Chicago Bears coach Ben Johnson after the coach’s passionate remarks following the team’s recent playoff win over the Green Bay Packers. Johnson’s comments went viral, particularly the fiery outburst made in the locker room: “Damn it, the Packers! F*** them! I hate them.”

Vitale, known for his charisma and long history in sports commentary, seemed taken aback. He took to social media to voice his critique, saying, “Totally classless attitude from @ChicagoBears coach Ben Johnson during his spectacular comeback victory over the @Packers. The main theme should have been the courageous comeback, not the childish F__Packers comments.”

This Bears-Packers rivalry is certainly intense, and Johnson isn’t one to shy away from stirring the pot. When he joined the Bears, he noted, “It was kind of fun to beat Matt LaFleur twice a year.”

This season has seen its share of tension, with Johnson’s comments leading to some awkward moments, even handshakes, during games. Chicago recorded a split in their regular season against the Packers but triumphed in a crucial playoff matchup.

Despite trailing 21-3 at halftime in that playoff game, Johnson highlighted the resilience of his team, claiming they were “built to withstand pressure.” Now, the Bears are set to face the Los Angeles Rams in the upcoming NFC Divisional Round.
