Chi Town has some very important decisions to make.
The Chicago Bears unveiled a substantial value proposition Wednesday. 5 billion dollars For the enclosed stadium next to Soldier Field, where they currently play. It will be featured in a major project that will completely change the look of Lake Cheese, and frankly, the whole thing is gorgeous.
But there’s one big problem. The team wants public funds to build the stadium. Um…are you coming again?
The Bears are asking for exactly $3.2 billion to build the stadium and another $1.5 billion for infrastructure. The project will add green open space, improve access to the museum campus, and include a publicly-operated hotel, but will have no direct impact on the public. Well, other than the taxpayers getting sucked off. (Related: Lions’ Penei Sewell signs four-year, $112 million contract extension, making him the highest-paid offensive lineman in the NFL)
“This is not an easy project, but Chicago doesn’t like things to be easy,” Bears President Kevin Warren said.
That’s an incredible quote…
That being said, the stadium looks incredibly beautiful, there’s no denying that fact.
It’s more than just a stadium.

But do they want $5 billion in taxes? … Chicago might want to think about that. As it stands now, taxes are already killing them (and all of America as well).
