Bears target two suburban locations for new stadium as there's no suitable site in Chicago.

The Chicago Bears are expected to play in the Windy City soon, but the team has reiterated its focus on finding a new stadium site beyond Chicago’s boundaries.

“The Chicago Bears have looked at every possibility to stay in Chicago, which was their initial aim,” the team stated. “Currently, there are no feasible locations within the city. Therefore, we are only considering sites in Arlington Heights and Hammond,” in Indiana.

Back in April, team president Kevin Warren mentioned they aim to announce the new stadium site by late spring or early summer, describing both locations as “great options,” as reported by the Associated Press.

Both states are actively trying to attract NFL teams. Indiana’s lawmakers have introduced a bill to establish the Northwest Indiana Stadium Authority, which plans to finance, build, and lease a new domed stadium for the Bears.

This prompted Illinois to react with significant tax incentives for construction projects exceeding $100 million, intended to keep the Bears in the state and in Arlington Heights, according to the Associated Press.

Arlington Heights is about a 40-minute drive from Soldier Field, where the Bears currently play.

The Bears have been part of Illinois since their inception in 1921.

As they head into the 2026 season, the Bears are looking to make the playoffs for a second straight year.

Quarterback Caleb Williams had a remarkable season, accumulating 3,942 passing yards and adding 388 rushing yards.

He scored a total of 23 touchdowns while recording only seven interceptions.

The team has lost some important secondary players but has strengthened its roster by signing defensive back Kobe Bryant to a three-year, $40 million deal and bringing in veteran linebacker Devin Bush.

However, the Bears are facing challenges, mainly due to a demanding schedule. Based on last season’s performance, this upcoming season could be the toughest yet.
