The 3-year-old boy who was beaten was declared dead after being abandoned in a Brooklyn hospital on Sunday morning. Police have launched a manhunt for the parents of now tragic young children, authorities said.
The heartbreaking incident unfolded at 11:24am.
He was declared dead in a medical facility, a NYPD spokesperson said.
Sources said the unidentified child was severely injured and “been severely beaten.”
Officers are now trying to canvas the area for witnesses and surveillance video footage to identify the boy's parents, sources told the Post.
Police said there were no arrests.
Police say the incident comes days after another tragic young death in which a four-year-old boy died of potential fentanyl poisoning at a flatbush shelter.
Last month, Brooklyn's mother was charged with the death of a six-year-old girl who drowned in the tub in her family's apartment.
