Professor Jerrell Ezel of the University of California, Berkeley argued that Democrats should stop relying on traditional racial politics to win elections.
in Politico Opinion Piece Ezel, announced Friday, found Democrats surprised President Donald Trump's interests in the 2024 presidential election despite their continued dependence on black, Latino, Indigenous and Asian voters. He pointed out that
“The 2024 presidential election left the ragged multi-ethnic coalition of the Democratic Party,” wrote Ezel. “Non-white people voted at a higher percentage in 2024 than 2020. In some cases, due to double digit increases. Democrats are thicker in Jesus considering these losses. The obvious truth: There is no deep cultural, social, economic, or political connection between black people, Latino, Indigenous people, or Asian Americans. At the very least, the party uses it for votes. It's not something you can do.”

“In November, Latinos were shaking hard for Trump, and the former president took a prominent hike with support from Asians,” Ezel continued. “Indigenous voters who are important in helping Biden win Arizona and Wisconsin in 2020 had no such effect on the key swing in this round, but the majority are still Democrats. voted for Kamala Harris netted eight out of 8 of 10 black voters in 2020.
Ezel said that if Democrats were totally “surprising” by the results of these polls, liberals who use the term “people of color” would “non-white voters are far more culturally similar. He wrote that it may be because he has learned to think, “We are politically affiliated.” In fact, I remember or go recently. ”
“The bottom line is that Democrats' 'people of color' rhetoric overestimates solidarity between different racial groups. This is a solidarity that has reached the heights of the civil rights era, but has long faded,” writes Ezel.
