Investment Insights: Berkshire Hathaway’s Position
I recently wrote about 14 low-risk, high-growth stocks to consider, and surprisingly, Berkshire Hathaway (NYSE: BRK-B) topped the list.
Berkshire Hathaway is often seen as a safe haven in turbulent markets. With Warren Buffett stepping down as chairman this year, the company officially entered the Greg Abel era. Interestingly, the circumstances created by current market volatility seem to bolster the company’s outlook, especially given its hefty cash reserves—between $350 billion and $373 billion. This marks the largest liquid assets the company has ever held. While it waits to make potentially undervalued acquisitions, Berkshire is generating over $13 billion annually from risk-free interest income, a figure that, frankly, few tech or industrial companies can match.
Berkshire acts almost like an economy unto itself. Its insurance arms, including GEICO and National Indemnity, are raking in record amounts of float money—capital held before claims must be paid. Premium growth hit 7.4% by early 2026, giving Greg Abel billions in low-cost funds to invest. The recent acquisition of Oxychem for $9.7 billion adds significant cash-generating industries to its already diverse portfolio, which includes BNSF Railway and Berkshire Hathaway Energy. What’s particularly interesting is the growing speculation among investors that Berkshire might announce its first-ever dividend by the end of 2026—a move that could spark a massive influx from dividend-focused funds and could push stock prices to new heights.
While we see potential in BRK-B as an investment, I believe there are AI stocks that might offer more upside and less risk.
