Beto O’Rourke Steps Forward to Criticize Joe Biden for His 2024 Campaign

Beto O’Rourke Critiques Biden’s Leadership

Beto O’Rourke, the former prominent Democrat, has recently joined others from his party in expressing dissatisfaction with President Joe Biden, stating that the 46th President has “failed the country” as he moves toward a potential re-election campaign in 2024.

“We might lose very well the biggest country this world has ever known,” O’Rourke remarked on the Pod Save America Podcast. “It’s not just you and me; our children and grandchildren might have to pay the price for this.”

He indicated that Biden’s unwillingness to step aside for younger Democratic leaders hampers the party’s chance to present a robust alternative to Trump. “It may be due to Biden and his team opting for re-election without an open primary,” O’Rourke reflected.

O’Rourke has been hosting town halls throughout Texas, leading to speculation that he could be preparing for a Senate run in 2026.

The former Texas politician also criticized party insiders who claim that Biden remains mentally sharp in private settings. “That’s not what I see with my own eyes,” he said, suggesting that such reassurances about Biden’s cognitive abilities might undermine the party’s credibility.

Many Democratic politicians and supporters now view Biden’s legacy as a political liability, as reported by various news outlets last week. Some insiders have acknowledged that the 82-year-old President has faced cognitive and physical challenges during his time in office.

This comes as Democrats attempt to chart a course forward amid historically low approval ratings.

Recent efforts took a hit with the release of audio from an interview with Biden’s special advisor, Robert Huar, who addressed allegations surrounding Biden’s handling of classified documents but chose not to accuse the President directly. In the audio, Biden struggled with key details, including the year of his son Beau’s death and the timeline of Donald Trump’s election.

After a report on this surfaced in early 2024, Biden appeared frustrated about recalling when he lost his son, notably questioning, “Would he dare to raise it in hell?”
