Bhattacharya Warned Against Lockdowns that Created a Lot of Distrust in Scientists

On HBO's “real-time” broadcast on Friday, host Bill Maher said much of the lack of trust in scientists was due to the coronavirus pandemic and the misleading candidates of President Donald Trump running the NIH, Dr. Jay Batacharya warned of the disastrous consequences of the closure.

After mentioning that the number of votes on trust in scientists is bad, Maher said: And people say, and I agree, a lot of this comes from how we handled the pandemic. Now you don't find it much in liberal media. They just denounce the pandemic itself. Well, that's not the pandemic, it's the way they handled it. And this new gentleman, with the chief of NIH Jay Bhattacharya, was part of a group he wrote called the Great Barrington Declaration. That's the work they wrote – they said it wasn't because of the closure. Ended. Car accident, that's the most indicator for me, the car [crashes]. For a long time they didn't understand, why do cars crash? That's why people just made the nuts f*cking. People just went out on the road to the bananas. ”

Maher then asked what he thought the panel was a lesson from the pandemic.
