Biden Attends Dignified Transfer For Service Members Who Lost Lives In Jordan

President Joe Biden on Friday attended the honorable transfer of three American soldiers killed in Jordan this week in a drone strike that the United States has linked to an Iranian-backed extremist group.

Relatives of three fallen service members met for the first time with the president and first lady Jill Biden at the Veterans Family Center at Dover Air Force Base in Delaware. The pastor stood and prayed at the base of the plane where the Bidens will return the remains of service members to the United States.

They then returned to formation on the tarmac, and an evacuation team from the fallen service member’s branch removed the soldiers’ flag-draped transport cases from the aircraft.

The soldier’s body was then transferred to a waiting van so that it could be prepared for its final resting place at the morgue.

After the event, Biden returned to Air Force One. He made no public speeches.
