The Biden campaign raised more than $1.6 million in 24 hours after former President Trump won the Iowa caucuses this week.
President Biden: “Ladies and gentlemen, in the 24 hours since Donald Trump won Iowa, our campaign has raised over $1.6 million from grassroots donors alone.'' said in the video Shared on Platform X, formerly known as Twitter. “Our campaign is nurses and teachers versus extreme MAGA Republicans, and we need your help. It's time to get on board.”
On Monday, Trump cruised to victory in Iowa, with news outlets declaring him the winner about 30 minutes after the caucuses officially began. The former president ultimately received more than half of the votes, winning all but one county in the state.
Trump is leading in polls in New Hampshire, which holds its primary on Tuesday, as well as several other early primary states, barring a surprise victory for former U.N. ambassador Nikki Haley. It suggests that the former president may finally be close to winning the nomination. Or Florida Governor Ron DeSantis.
Biden's campaign and its allies have long argued that voters skeptical of Biden would support the president once it became clear that Trump was the Republican nominee, and that Trump would be more likely to support him in a hypothetical general election race. He has denied polls showing him leading Biden.
The Biden campaign announced it had raised more than $97 million in the fourth quarter of 2023 and has $117 million on hand.
