President Joe Biden commuted the sentence of a man sentenced to 10 years in prison for his role in the fentanyl overdose death of a New York woman.
A press release issued by the White House on Thursday stated: revealed Biden reportedly pardoned 39 people and commuted 1,499 sentences. Among the list of people whose sentences were commuted was Daniel Fillelup.
Press release from the United States Attorney's Office for the Northern District of New York, April 24, 2019. revealed Fillerup, of Albany, was sentenced to 120 months in prison after selling the fentanyl that led to Kate Centofanti's death, police said.
Filerup reportedly admitted that on September 29, 2016, he and Centofanti “arranged for her to receive two bags of heroin.” After she obtained the bag from Fillerp, she “ingested” what was actually fentanyl, which “caused Centofanti's death from fentanyl poisoning.”
As part of his guilty plea on December 20, 2018, Mr. Fillerup admitted that on September 29, 2016, he arranged with Kate Centofanti to supply two bags of heroin via text message and phone call. Mr. Fillerup met with Mr. Centofanti in Schenectady, New York, where Mr. Centofanti gave Mr. Fillerup $36. He obtained bags believed to contain heroin and gave two of them to Centofanti. Centofanti ingested a substance called fentanyl given to him by Fillerup. The ingestion of fentanyl caused Mr. Centofanti's death from fentanyl poisoning.
Breitbart News' Olivia Rondeau previously reported that approximately 34.3 tons of fentanyl that reached the US southern border was seized under the Biden-Harris administration.
The US Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC) recently warned that there is a modified version of fentanyl called carfentanil that is reportedly “100 times more potent than fentanyl.”
