Biden declares Easter Sunday as ‘Transgender Day of Visibility’

President Biden this week declared March 31st (Easter Sunday this year) as Transgender Day of Visibility.

“I, Joseph R. Biden, Jr., President of the United States, by virtue of the authority vested in me by the Constitution and laws of the United States, do hereby proclaim March 31, 2024, as Transgender Visibility Day.” That’s what Friday’s statement said.

“I urge all Americans to join us in elevating the lives and voices of transgender people across our country and to work to eliminate violence and discrimination against all transgender, gender nonconforming, and nonbinary people. I call on you.”
