Biden Deep Underwater on Top Issues of Inflation, Immigration

President Joe Biden’s approval ratings are well below the surface when it comes to what Americans rated as the top two issues in the 2018 presidential election. economist/YouGov poll.

Furthermore, 97% of all respondents said inflation was “important,” and 77% said it was “very important.” Similarly, 85% think immigration is an “important” issue, with 56% saying it is “very important.”

However, Biden’s approval rating in these areas is more than 30 points lower. Only 29% approve of his handling of inflation and prices, while 62% disapprove of his performance, including 49% who say they “strongly” disapprove. .

Biden’s lead among independents is even worse. Just 17% approve of Biden’s approach to tackling inflation, while 72% disapprove.

Biden also has a 29% approval rating on immigration, although an overwhelming 61% disapprove of his performance in this area. Again, he has a big problem with independents, with just 17 percent giving him a positive rating and 69 percent giving him a negative rating.

According to the poll, the president’s overall approval rating is 36%, with 59% giving him a negative rating.

In a general sense, a plurality of respondents (44%) said that the economic situation is bad, and 29% rated the economic situation as “fair.” Only 24% said he was “very good” (5%) or “good” (19%).

A majority (55%) think the economy is getting worse, 23% think things are the same and 18% think things are getting better.

Furthermore, 44% of Americans, including 50% of independents, say their finances are worse off than they were a year ago, and 40% say their finances are “about the same.” Only 13% say they are better off financially than they were a year ago, and only 9% of them are independents.

As Breitbart News’ Hannah Knudsen noted, the poll also found that people who planned to vote for former President Donald Trump were more enthusiastic than those who planned to support Biden.

The poll surveyed 1,651 U.S. adults from April 21 to April 23 and had a margin of error of plus or minus 3.3 percentage points.
