Asked by Fox News early Tuesday morning when he would be heading out to campaign with Vice President Kamala Harris, President Biden responded, “Yeah, I went out today.”
Biden made the remarks after returning from a trip to Austin, Texas, on Monday, where he spoke and said he wanted Congress to impose “bold” rules on the Supreme Court, including term limits and a new code of conduct, and to draft a new constitutional amendment to limit presidential immunity.
“When are you going to be campaigning for the vice presidential election?” Biden was asked by Fox News as he departed from a Marine One helicopter on the White House South Lawn.
“Well, I did today,” Biden replied.

The president also told Fox News that “we’re having conversations” when asked about potential running mates for Harris and his thoughts on who she should choose.
When Biden announced his withdrawal from the presidential race on July 21, he said he “fully endorses and supports Kamala to be our party’s nominee this year.”
“In recent years, extreme decisions from the Supreme Court have undermined some of the longest-standing civil rights principles and protections,” Biden said Monday at the Johnson Presidential Library during an event marking the 60th anniversary of the Civil Rights Act.

Biden cited several recent cases, including the overturning of Roe v. Wade and Trump v. United States, which he said “most shockingly” established presidential immunity and called it a “dangerous precedent.”
“This court is being used to weaponize an extreme and unchecked agenda,” President Biden said, calling the immunity decision “an utter affront to our basic expectations of those who hold power.”
