Biden insists drones pose ‘no sense of danger’ in first comments on mysterious sightings

President Biden has broken his silence on the alarming number of drone sightings hitting the tri-state region, insisting there is “no sense of crisis” over the unexplained flights.

“Obviously there's nothing wrong with that,” Biden told reporters at the White House on Tuesday, as many members of Congress joined concerned citizens in demanding answers from the federal government about the reported origins of the drones. “They haven't, but they are scrutinizing everything.”

The 82-year-old president said: “We are monitoring it closely, but there is no sense of danger at this time.”

“There are a lot of licensed drones out there,” Biden said. “I think one person started it and everyone wanted in on this deal,” he said, perhaps referring to the “copycat” theory that has emerged as a possible reason for the flurry of drone sightings. It seems that.

Biden's remarks echoed his administration's assertion that the public does not need to worry about unidentified flying objects, which it claims are primarily manned aircraft.

The FBI, FAA, Department of Defense and Department of Homeland Security said in a joint statement Monday that there is little reason for concern.

“Sightings to date have included a combination of legal commercial, hobbyist and law enforcement drones, as well as manned fixed-wing aircraft, helicopters, and astronomical aircraft incorrectly reported as drones. We are making the decision,” the official said.

The first drone sighting was reported in New Jersey on November 18th.

President Trump said Monday that “the government knows what's going on.” “Look, our military knows where they took off from. If it's a garage, they can get into that garage right away. They know where it came from and where it went, but , for some reason I don't want to comment,'' the president-elect added.

“And I think they better say what it is. Our military knows it, our president knows it, and for some reason they want to make people anxious.”
