Biden is headed for defeat in upcoming election — and Dems have ‘no plan to fix the problems’: top pollster Nate Silver

Renowned pollster Nate Silver said President Biden is expected to lose this November due to age and declining job performance, and that Democrats have “no plan to fix the problem.”

Silver, founder and former editor-in-chief of the statistics website FiveThirtyEight, said the incumbent president “still has a chance” of winning, but that’s either because the polls are wrong or it’s just a result of “the voters.” Ta. [who] Once you have more time to focus on the race, your perspective on the race will change. ”

“Americans have very reasonable concerns about the prospects of their commander-in-chief, who will be 86 years old by the end of his second term, so at this point Mr. candidate,” Silver said. he wrote in his newsletter, Silver Britain.

“It’s perfectly reasonable to think this is a disqualification.”

The newspaper has reached out to Biden’s re-election campaign for comment.

Last week, ABC News/Ipsos released a poll showing that an astonishing 86% of adults believe Biden, at 81 years old, is too old to serve another term.

Biden supporters point out that the Republican nominee, former President Donald Trump, faces significant legal challenges. Mr. Silver disputed that claim, saying it was “not a good enough reason to nominate Mr. Biden.”

Some polls show Trump ahead of Biden in key battleground states.

“This is why the Democratic Party, as adults in the room, acknowledges that a person who cannot sit in on a Super Bowl interview is not someone the public can trust to have the physical and mental fortitude to deal with an international crisis or terrorists.” By then, they may be exposed to attacks or other unexpected threats,” Silver wrote.

Silver advised Democrats that their “best option to defeat Trump” may be to remove Biden from office and allow the party to choose a nominee at its convention in August.

Biden’s decision to skip the traditional pregame interview before the Super Bowl earlier this month raised eyebrows. Reuters

He wrote that Biden should make a final push to allay doubts by giving four tough media interviews in the coming weeks.

“This isn’t really worth asking. These interviews are the kind of thing every president has done in recent years,” Silver wrote, adding that if he can’t do that, “I’m going to ask the American people for another four years as president.” “It’s very bold to ask them to do that,” he added.

Biden skipped his customary Super Bowl pregame interview with CBS Television last week, marking the second year in a row that the president has skipped a sit-down.

White House officials told reporters the decision was made because Super Bowl viewers wanted to watch football and not the president.

The New York Times editorial board said Biden’s decision to skip the Super Bowl interview follows a pattern of “more substantive, unscripted interactions with the public and the press than any president in recent memory.” He said it was part of it.

Biden avoided a high-profile press conference because his approval rating remains below 40%.

The decision comes in light of a damning report by the special counsel that declined to indict the president for mishandling classified documents, especially because Biden is an “elderly man with poor memory.” strengthened the discussion about mental and physical strength.

In response to Robert Hur’s report, Mr. Biden scolded him, saying, “Memory is fine.”

Biden has made several gaffes recently, including forgetting the names of public figures and confusing the heads of state of Mexico and Egypt.
