CNN senior data reporter Harry Enten said on “News Central” on Tuesday that if President Joe Biden loses the November election, Democrats would lose both the House and the Senate.
“They might be able to get a slight lead over Joe Biden, but the fact is, if you look at the national polls, the general congressional ballot choice for the U.S. House of Representatives, this CNN poll with two Republicans, the Wall Street Journal poll with three Republicans, the Monmouth University poll with three Republicans, sure, Joe Biden might be slightly behind in these polls, but when Biden is four, five, six points behind in these polls, they can’t get that far ahead of Joe Biden. And right now, at least in the House of Representatives races, it looks like the Republicans are ahead because Donald Trump has a big lead,” Enten said.
Moderator John Berman asked, “What’s the situation in the Senate?”
“The fact is, if Donald Trump wins this election, in my opinion, the Senate race is effectively over,” Enten said.
He added: “Bulk voting is the order of the day in the country these days. The idea that Democrats could somehow outmaneuver Joe Biden to gain control of the House or retain control of the Senate seems to me an unlikely proposition.”
