On Tuesday’s “CNN News Central,” Rep. Jimmy Gomez (D-CA) remarked that President Joe Biden has “made significant progress during his tenure” to enhance border security, while Biden “has concentrated on serious actions against fentanyl.”
When asked if President Joe Biden intends to take further actions regarding immigration during his presidency, Gomez replied, “Well, do we hope the facts remain the same? [border] intersection. It also emphasized tackling fentanyl effectively. We understand that 80% of that fentanyl enters through ports of entry, brought in and carried by US citizens. To enhance our national safety, we should prioritize this.”
He added, “So we wish for everything we desire, but this is the reality we face. And I believe Trump is also applying these laws in ways that elevate worker costs, ensure public safety, and diminish the security of our neighborhoods.”
