On Friday’s broadcast of Fox Business Network’s “Morning with Maria,” Congressman Randy Weber (R-Texas) reverses President Joe Biden’s suspension of liquefied natural gas (LNG) export approvals. He discussed the House vote to do so, pointing out that Mr. Biden had communicated this to European countries. He gave Russia a “gift” to avoid dependence on Russian LNG, and now undercut his own previous goal.
Weber said:[L]Oh, I can’t believe what this president has done. As you mentioned, nine Democrats voted for us. They know what’s at stake here. If you think about it, President Biden last year told European countries that they needed to get out of Russian LNG, that we would supply them with LNG, that the United States would supply it. But what do you think? This is the year of campaigns. And suddenly he took this course to appease his radical climate change base. …It’s going to hurt the Texas Gulf Coast, it’s going to hurt jobs, it’s going to hurt our energy independence, and it looks like this president is going to destroy our energy industry. ”
He added: “This is a gift to President Putin and the Iranian killers, who were basically responsible for the murder of three of our finest military personnel.” I can’t believe this president will continue on this path, and I can’t believe that the American people aren’t paying attention. ”
