“This court is such a disgrace that it shouldn't even be called the Supreme Court,” she said to rapturous applause from Maher's studio audience. “That's an insult to Motown,” she quipped.
“It's basically Harlem. It's Trump's Harlem,” she said.
Lebowitz commented on the high court's July ruling on presidential immunity, which ruled in a 6-3 decision that presidents are subject to limited immunity from criminal prosecution for official acts committed while in office. did.
The ruling was widely seen as a major victory for Trump in his ongoing fight against the Biden-Harris administration's weaponization of the Justice Department against him.
On Friday's show, Libowitz incorrectly interpreted the ruling as making the president a “king” who “can do whatever he wants.” As a result, she argued, with apparent seriousness, that Biden could dissolve the court.
