Biden to give farewell address Wednesday

The White House announced that President Biden will deliver a farewell address to the nation on Wednesday, marking the end of his four-year term as president.

He is scheduled to deliver his final speech in the Oval Office of the White House at 8 p.m. ET.

The president's final remarks are scheduled to follow Monday's exit foreign policy speech, during which he plans to focus on his administration's efforts to strengthen America's standing around the world.

Press Secretary Karine Jean-Pierre did not comment when asked during Friday's White House briefing whether the president would hold a final news conference.

The president will step down from office on January 20, when President-elect Trump is sworn in. Mr. Biden ran for re-election against Mr. Trump, but withdrew from the race in July under pressure from the Democratic Party following his disastrous defeat in the presidential debate, raising questions about the next president. his age and physical strength;
