Biden tops Trump in Pennsylvania survey 

President Biden polled ahead of former President Trump in Pennsylvania, a crucial battleground state that the president won in 2020, according to poll results released Wednesday.

The 3-point lead over Trump comes after a Pennsylvania poll conducted by Quinnipiac University in October found the former president with 47% support and 45% for Biden. However, a Franklin Marshall College poll of Pennsylvania voters conducted in the same month found that Biden beat Trump by 2 points, with 44% of respondents saying they supported the president, compared to Trump. It was 42%.

Biden carried the state in 2020 after Trump won the state in 2016. Biden typically visits the state for big events such as democracy-focused speeches and campaign rallies, and considers the state his second home. First Lady Jill Biden is from the Philadelphia area.

Biden is scheduled to travel to Pennsylvania on Friday and visit the Allentown area to deliver a speech on economic policy.

A new Quinnipiac University poll that included independent candidates and Green Party candidates found Biden with 41% support, Trump with 39% and independent candidate Robert F. Quinnipiac surveyed 1,680 Pennsylvania voters from January 4 to 8 and had a margin of error of plus or minus 2.4 percentage points.
