Biden: Trump’s rhetoric ‘not America’s’ after he shared video referencing ‘unified Reich’

President Biden said former President Donald Trump’s language was not representative of the United States after the former president shared a video on social media in which he referred to a “united empire.”

Biden re-election campaign announced video This comes in reaction to a video President Trump shared on his Truth Social page Monday night that featured hypothetical headlines about a possible victory in November, including references to a “united empire.” This is a picture of what it looks like.

“Is this his official account? That’s amazing,” Biden said in the video. “A united empire? That’s Hilter’s language, not America’s. He cares about holding power. He cares about you.”

The Biden campaign, the White House and Vice President Harris also condemned the video earlier Tuesday. The video was not created by the Trump campaign and was removed on Tuesday morning.

Biden addressed the issue Tuesday night during a fundraiser event in Boston, where he criticized Trump as “a little erratic.”

“Yesterday, his camp posted online that if he wins, there will be a unified Reich like the Third Reich. This is the same guy who uses Hitler’s words, not American words.” said the president.

He added: “It’s not surprising that about four months ago he said – and I think it’s probably a little longer – that Hitler had quoted some good things.”

Biden was referring to a conversation he had with Trump’s former chief of staff, John Kelly. In the conversation, President Trump spoke favorably of Adolf Hitler, saying that Hitler “did good things.” Kelly spoke about that conversation in an interview with CNN in March.
