Biden White House turned over Trump, Pence government cellphones to FBI as part of anti-Trump agent’s case

Exclusive: The Biden White House handed over the FBI government mobile phones to President Donald Trump and former Vice President Mike Pence in May 2020 as part of the Bureau's investigation into the aftermath of the 2020 election in May 2020. Trump Fox News Digital learned from its research without sufficient prediction.

The FBI didn't need a warrant to physically obtain a government mobile phone from the Biden White House, but after obtaining agents for the device and then began drafting a search warrant to extract data from the mobile phone, a source familiar with the investigation told Fox News Digital.

“The Biden White House played alongside the FBI's “Getcha” scheme against Trump,” a source familiar with the investigation told Fox News Digital. “Biden's White House advisory office, under the guidance of Dana Remus and Jonathan Suss, gave the FBI a blessing and accommodation to physically obtain Trump and Pence's mobile phones in early May 2022. A few weeks later, the FBI began creating search warrants for the phone.

The phone was obtained and entered as evidence as part of the FBI's original anti-Trump 2020 election investigation, and was eventually handed over to current special advisor Jack Smith. The incident, known within the bureau as “Arctic Frost,” was held on April 13, 2022 by former anti-Trump FBI agent Timothy Thibaut.

Thibault broke protocols and played a key role in launching and moving forward the original investigation of the station related to the 2020 election, according to whistleblowers, linking Trump to the investigation without adequate prediction. Thibault broke the protocol by taking action to launch an investigation, even though he was not permitted to launch a criminal investigation in his role.

According to a document reviewed by Fox News Digital, ThiBault vowed to “prioritize the investigation over everyone else in the branch.”

By late April 2022, the FBI began working with 13 FBI field offices nationwide to schedule more than 12 interviews for the survey.

The revelation comes from the disclosure of legally protected whistleblower provided to Senate Judiciary Committee Chairman Chuck Grassley on R-Iowa's Speaker Ron Johnson, and to Senate Speaker R-Wis of the Senate Subcommittee. Fox News Digital reviewed the disclosure.

Grassley and Johnson sent whistle blower disclosures and records late Thursday to Attorney General Pam Bondy and FBI Director Kash Patel.

“The new records we are publishing point to an aggressive investigation run by anti-Trump agents and prosecutors that aim to use all the resources available to pursue Trump and his supporters,” Grassley and Johnson wrote.

The first record of Trump and Pence's mobile phones was dated April 25, 2022, saying, “The DOJ and the FBI have been notified that former Vice President Mike Pence and former President Donald J. Trump are government-issued mobile phones that allegedly belong to private property in the White House.

Records revealed on May 4, 2022 that FBI agents own two mobile phones belonging to Trump and Pence. Records show that the phone was entered into evidence and not processed until a search warrant was obtained.

The same date, May 4, 2022, FBI agents interviewed Deputy White House Attorney Jonathan SU. Subsequent letters requesting additional information about the mobile phone were then sent to White House attorney Dana Remus on May 9, 2022 by the U.S. Attorney's Office in Washington, D.C.

Remus and Su declined to comment on Fox News Digital.

Representatives of former President Joe Biden did not immediately respond to requests for comment on whether he was aware of the situation at Fox News Digital.

The agents also tried to interview former Trump administration officials, including employees of the President and Vice President's office, the DOJ and then national intelligence supervisor John Ratcliffe. Ratcliffe is currently the CIA director of the second Trump administration.

“Sunshine is the best disinfectant,” Grassley and Johnson wrote to Bondi and Patel on Thursday. “The American people deserve to know the full extent of corruption within the DOJ and FBI that led to President Trump's investigation.”

Grassley and Johnson said they have published the document “to provide specific examples of past actions at agencies that should not be repeated for public accountability purposes.”

“In very simple terms, the public has the right to know what happened with the Arctic frosts, and based on what we've exposed to, the American people deserve better from law enforcement.”

They added: “It's important that every individual in your agency maintains the highest level of professionalism and not allow political bias to motivate or guide their research work.”

Grassley and Johnson emphasized that “we expect production of all records related to the investigation of Arctic frost, including all internal records of survey updates.”

“We also request data that provides a true and complete breakdown of the total amount spent investigating Arctic frost before it is officially transferred to Jack Smith in November 2022,” they wrote. “Please include information related to travel funding and the time spent research.”

Grassley and Johnson gave Patel a deadline of March 27, 2025 and a deadline to take over all records.

FBI spokesman Ben Williamson told Fox News Digital that the department was “received requests from Speaker Grassley and Senator Johnson.”

“According to Director Patel's directive, our team will work proactively to follow the demands of Congress, as always,” Williamson told Fox News Digital.

Regarding Thibault, Fox News Digital exclusively reported in 2024 that he was fired by the FBI after violating the Hatch Act in a political post on social media. Previous whistleblowers claimed that Thibaud had exhibited a “active public-party pattern,” which likely influenced the investigation involving Trump and Hunter Biden.

Former Attorney General Merrick Garland has appointed Smith, a former Justice Department employee who became special advisor in November 2022.

Smith, a former US lawyer and chief of the DOJ's Public Integrity Section, led an investigation into the retention of Trump's classification documents after he left the White House, leading whether the former president thwarted an investigation into the issue.

Smith was also tasked with overseeing an investigation into whether Trump or other officials or groups obstructed the peaceful transfer of power after the 2020 presidential election, including the certification of the Jan. 6, 2021 election college vote.

Smith indicted Trump in both cases, but Trump pleaded not guilty.

The classified record case was dismissed in July 2024 by the US District Court for Southern District Judge Irene Cannon.
