Biden, 81, reportedly plans to continue his reelection bid and has even pledged to debate Republican front-runner Donald Trump again in September.
“As reported by @CNN, not only does @POTUS have no plans to withdraw from the debate, advisors tell me Biden remains committed to participating in the second debate in September,” CNN senior White House correspondent Cale Touche posted on X (formerly Twitter) on Friday, June 28.
The update came the morning after the first 2024 presidential debate, during which Biden sounded raspy and struggled to keep up with his rival’s rapid-fire speech.
