Biden wins Hawaii Democratic caucuses

President Joe Biden won the Democratic caucuses in Hawaii on Wednesday, moving him closer to winning the party’s nomination again after winning on Super Tuesday earlier this week.

Bill Milks, an 80-year-old retiree, voted irresponsibly because he believes the 81-year-old Biden is incapable of effectively debating or campaigning for president.

“He’s not healthy enough to show enthusiasm and make people believe he can stick it out and do a good job for another four years,” Milks said.

Hawaii Democrats cast their votes in school cafeterias, community centers and union halls across the state.

Only registered voters who were party members could participate, but the party allowed same-day party registration and voter registration at each polling station.

Hawaii is a stronghold of the Democratic Party. Democrats control both chambers of the state Legislature and the governor’s office. All four members of the state’s congressional delegation are Democrats.

The Hawaii Republican Party will hold its presidential caucus on March 12th.
