Excitement Builds for Texas-Ohio State Matchup
The opening Saturday of the 2025 college football season is set to kick off with Texas facing off against Ohio State—a game that’s capturing plenty of attention, especially from the Longhorns’ sidelines.
This offseason, Arch Manning, nephew of NFL legends Payton and Eli Manning, has been in the spotlight. As a redshirt sophomore, he’s expected to lead Texas offensively, but there are mixed feelings about whether he’s ready for the pressure.
Bijan Robinson, formerly a standout with the Atlanta Falcons, believes Manning will know just what to do when the moment arrives, both this Saturday and throughout the season as they chase the national title.
“His family background is significant,” Robinson shared. “He’s been around the game his entire life.” Growing up, Arch watched his uncles not just face challenges but also rise to remarkable success, clinching the Vince Lombardi trophy along the way.
Manning’s Confidence
This past offseason, Payton spoke about his own father’s guidance during his football journey. He mentioned that, as an uncle, he just provides support and advice when necessary.
“Playing for Texas, it makes every moment feel manageable,” Robinson explained. “Outside pressures can amplify things, but when you’re on that field, it’s about trusting the gifts you’ve been given.”
Robinson expressed confidence in Manning’s preparation, remarking that he’s been exposed to high-stakes moments, including the Super Bowl, and is ready to perform without being overwhelmed.
While Ohio State’s stadium, known as “The Horseshoe,” presents its own challenges, Robinson is optimistic that there will be plenty of burnt orange in the stands, showing strong support from Texas fans.
“We’re fortunate to have such loyal fans,” he remarked with a grin. “Texas fans travel incredibly well, and no matter who we play, we seem to draw plenty of attention, often becoming the team everyone loves to dislike.”
Robinson’s recent experience has him focusing on different colors while playing for the Falcons, but he’s eager to rally the Texas fans this weekend.
Mark Your Colors
Led by Collegiate Brand Licensing Leader Clc, Marks College Colors Day encourages fans nationwide to showcase their school spirit by wearing team colors.
Robinson emphasized, “It’s vital for all fans to don their colors and represent their school.” He feels it creates a powerful connection during the games.
