Bill Belichick Charged in Fall Incident

North Carolina Tar Heels football coach Bill Belichick faces charges related to an incident at his Massachusetts residence that took place in June 2024.

A painter, Andrew Jackson, has filed a lawsuit against Forty-Five Fair Street LLC, a company controlled by Belichick, in Nantucket Superior Court. Jackson claims that she sustained injuries from a fall due to unsafe construction practices on the property.

The lawsuit details that “as a direct and proximate result of the fall, Plaintiff sustained serious injuries, including severe damage to her right ankle, and suffered pain, disability, medical expenses, lost wages, and other consequential damages.” Jackson received workers’ compensation benefits but maintains the right to pursue negligence claims against other parties beyond her employer.

The complaint argues that Belichick’s company failed to ensure a safe work environment at the construction site. It lists several alleged failures, including not maintaining safe conditions, neglecting inspections, and not warning workers of hazards.

Jackson is reportedly seeking compensation of nearly $300,000, as per local reports. Belichick’s representatives have yet to comment on the matter.

Interestingly, Belichick acquired the Nantucket property in 2024 for $4.8 million.
