Bill Belichick has lost a pair of UNC football players to his transfer portal, including a quarterback who just arrived in the program in December.
Four months after his move from Purdue, QB Ryan Browne has returned to the portal with South Alabama Signal Colour Tar Heels, who recently entered the portal, targeting Gio Lopez.
Additionally, multiple reports show that UNC is losing defensive lineman Beautkinson.
Atkinson recorded team-high 7.5 sacks during the 2024 season.
Belichick recently entered school in December and then prepared for his first season with UNC, making sure he recently competed in spring practice.
The 73-year-old, who left the Patriot after the 2023 season, reportedly did not get an NFL job in 2024 and is acting as his “de facto agent” before jumping into college with his 24-year-old girlfriend Jordon Hudson.
In February, ESPN ranked 45th in North Carolina’s recruiting class this year, labeling the tar heel, which added 17 freshmen and two transfers, as “large riser.”
This was considered a major victory that Belichick was able to convince top 200 quarterback Bryce Baker to stay on the program at his previous high school.
Last month, Devin, the son of the NFL great Larry Fitzgerald, also a wide receiver, said he received a scholarship offer from Belichick.
