Bill Belichick’s children seem a bit unsure about his relationship with 24-year-old Jordon Hudson, but ultimately, they desire what’s best for their father, a six-time Super Bowl-winning coach.
Belichick and Hudson’s relationship came under the spotlight after an interview aired on April 27th on “CBS Sunday Morning.” The segment sparked concerns among fans and those close to former Patriots coaches regarding Hudson’s influence on the veteran coach.
Recent reports suggest insight into the children’s thoughts about this situation. “His kids want the best for dad, but like most families, they hope this is a good choice for him,” a source mentioned.
Belichick has three grown children from his previous marriage to Debby Clark Belichick. It’s been somewhat of a family affair in coaching since his father’s influence. Amanda, at 41, leads the women’s lacrosse team at Holy Cross, while Stephen, 38, and Brian, 37, both work within the University of North Carolina’s football coaching setup.
The family’s sentiment about Belichick’s relationship with Hudson has drawn particular attention, especially after Stephen’s wife, Jennifer Schmidt, seemed to criticize Hudson’s “CBS Sunday Morning” interview in an Instagram post.
Despite the age gap, sources claim that Hudson and Belichick’s relationship is genuine, noting that they “enjoy being together.” Hudson is becoming increasingly involved in Belichick’s daily operations and has been acting as a spokesperson.
The former university cheerleader has been described as someone with clear plans and a mature demeanor, despite her youth. Another source pointed out that Hudson is quite savvy about social media and public perception.
However, it has been indicated that Hudson’s approach might come off as “amateurish.” “It’s amateur hour and it shows,” one source remarked, adding that they struggle with trusting others and trying to manage everything themselves.
Belichick’s relationship first became known last June, with Hudson later becoming more vocal about it on social media. They initially met on a flight from Boston to West Palm Beach in February 2021.
