Bill Gates Faces Fallout from Epstein Files

The recently released Epstein files from the Justice Department have put Microsoft co-founder and vaccine advocate Bill Gates in a rather negative light.

In response to the controversy surrounding her ex-husband’s mention in the files, Melinda French Gates shared her feelings on NPR’s “Wild Card” podcast. She referred to the situation as painful, expressing that it brings back memories of a particularly challenging time in her marriage. She said, “Every time those details come up, it’s painful for me personally, right?”

French Gates mentioned that she has managed to “move on with her life,” but added that her ex-husband still grapples with the implications of his extensive ties to Epstein, who is known for his heinous crimes.

At a town hall meeting, Gates reportedly expressed remorse to Gates Foundation staff regarding his relationship with Epstein, admitting, “Spending time with Epstein was a huge mistake.” This was highlighted in a recording reviewed by The Wall Street Journal.

While Gates maintains that he hasn’t participated in or even witnessed illegal activities, he is facing accusations. A victim of Epstein, along with his publicist, has claimed wrongdoing on Gates’ part.

In another instance, Gates revealed he had been informed of photos included in the files, which showed him with women whose identities had been obscured. He asserted that Epstein once requested a photo of his assistant during their time together.

Gates clarified that he has never engaged with the women connected to Epstein’s crimes, saying, “To be clear, I have never spent time with the victim or any of the women around her.” He did acknowledge meeting a Russian bridge player and a nuclear physicist through various events and activities.

The context becomes more complicated as Gates noted he continued to associate with Epstein five years after Epstein’s prior conviction for solicitation involving a minor, despite Melinda’s concerns expressed back in 2013.

Reflecting on the situation, Gates commented, “Knowing what we know now, it’s clear that his past crimes, but also his ongoing misdeeds, were 100 times worse.” He acknowledged that his association with Epstein has had adverse effects on both his public persona and the reputation of the Gates Foundation.

Gates conveyed remorse not just for his mistakes but for others adversely impacted by his relationship with Epstein. He stated, “I’m sorry to the other people who got caught up in this because of the mistakes I made.”

He also recognized the negative repercussions his ties to Epstein have had on the organization now referred to as the Gates Foundation, particularly after his divorce from Melinda. He stressed that those connections contradict the foundation’s core values and objectives.

In a statement to Blaze News regarding Gates’ remarks, the Gates Foundation described the town hall meeting as an opportunity for Gates to address various issues, including his connection to Epstein and the foundation’s initiatives.

The foundation expressed profound regret over any staff involvement with Epstein and emphasized the severity of the harm inflicted upon women and girls by him, stating, “The harm Epstein inflicted on women and girls was horrific, and no one should ever have to go through what they did.”
