The hosts of HBO’s “Real Time with Bill Maher” dug into shocking revelations from Max’s documentary “Quiet on the Set: The Dark Side of Kids TV” on Friday’s latest episode.

“It’s just scene after scene of the child stars of the time being subjected to clearly inappropriate and sexually degrading behavior.”

He added: “Not only did we expose a dangerous workplace, but we also exposed hypocrisy, because Florida’s evil governor is talking about kids and Disney creepiness that liberals now find intolerable. Because I have to point out that they were saying exactly the same thing about that.” At Nickelodeon, he was dismissed as an idiot and a bigot. ”

Maher said Nickelodeon is not that different from Disney, citing reports that a number of Mouse House employees have been arrested for sex crimes against children.

“A CNN report in 2014 found that at least 35 Disney employees had been arrested for sex crimes against children. And in 2021, Disney child star Alyson Stoner was arrested for crimes ranging from toddler to train wreck. The following year, child actor Cole Sprouse told the New York Times that young actresses on the Disney Channel were heavily sexualized from an early age.

Maher pointed out that Brian Peck, the dialogue coach who sexually abused Nickelodeon star Drake Bell, was sentenced to 16 months in prison and, upon his release, was hired by Disney to work on a children’s series.

“Oh, to all the Hollywood pedophiles. It’s a small world, after all,” the comedian deadpanned. “DeSantis wasn’t wrong! But we’re so tribal now that the left will overlook child abuse if someone from the wrong party denounces it.”

In 2022, DeSantis passed the Parents in Education Bill of Rights, also known as the “Don’t Tell Me I’m Gay” bill. “School districts shall not encourage classroom discussions of sexual orientation or gender identity at the elementary or elementary school level,” the bill said. This method is inappropriate for the age and development of the student. ”

Disney, which is based in Orlando and is home to Disney World, pushed back, saying the bill should never have been signed because it undermines the safety and rights of members of the LGBTQ+ community.

Maher went on to talk about “woke” events such as drag queens’ story time and parents exploiting their children for social media influence, and how far-left gender concepts are entering American classrooms. He criticized the tendency to be rejected, likening it to a “trap.” ”

Maher said it was “great” to teach children not to hate or criticize others who are different, but the far left was taking “inclusion” too far. HBO/Bill Maher Real Time

“As I’ve said before, wokeness is no longer an extension of liberalism. It’s more likely that you take something too far and the opposite happens,” he says.

Maher continued: “Teach your kids not to hate or criticize people who are different from them. Great!… But at some point, inclusion turns into promotion. And contrary to current progressive dogma, Children are not miniature adults who are wise beyond their years, they are fools.
