“Real Time” host Bill Maher seemed shocked by MSNBC's softball interview with Vice President Kamala Harris and chided recent guest Stephanie Rhule.
“We are working to strengthen [Harris’] Because of her vulnerability, there was a lot of pressure on her. She doesn't give interviews. she doesn't answer [questions]- So she had an interview. She said, “Okay, I'll answer your tough questions.” So she went on MSNBC,” Maher quipped in his opening monologue Friday night.
“There were some questions that weren't as tough, but I still didn't expect them to rub her feet,” the liberal host added, drawing laughter from the audience.

Days before her interview with the vice president, Ruhl appeared on “Real Time” to defend Harris for not answering tough policy questions.
“Kamala Harris is not running to be perfect. She's running against Trump,” Ruhl told Maher. “We have two choices, so there are going to be some things that we don't know her answers to. And in 2024, unlike 2016 for many Americans, we have a lot of questions about what Trump will do. , we know exactly who he is and what kind of threat he is.'' He supports democracy. ”
The MSNBC host flattered Harris multiple times after the exclusive interview.

“What I didn't hear from her was any divisive language,” Rhule told MSNBC colleague Nicole Wallace. “Imagine if I was sitting on the other side. donald trumpimagine the language he would use. And just the fact that we were talking about collaborative inclusivity, I don't know. Whether you vote for her or not, wouldn’t it be great to have a positive conversation right now?”
Mr. Ruhl acknowledged that Ms. Harris did not answer questions about how she would finance her ambitious economic policies without Congress, but said Mr. He was quick to defend her by saying it would “inflate” the budget deficit significantly.
She went on to say she was “okay” with Harris not giving specifics about her policy proposals, dismissing her non-response as just being “a politician.”

“It’s complicated, isn’t it?” exclaimed Ruhl. “We are a country of 330 million people and we have a complex economy. Similarly, are we doing well or bad? It depends entirely on the situation!
