Bill Maher Supports Spencer Pratt for L.A. Mayor: 'Won Me Over Right Away'

Bill Maher Praises Spencer Pratt’s Candidacy

Comedian Bill Maher, who hosts an HBO late-night show, recently expressed his appreciation for reality star and Republican candidate for Los Angeles mayor, Spencer Pratt, stating, “Thank you.”

During an episode of Maher’s podcast, Club Random, Pratt revealed that he had “absolutely no plans” to run for mayor. Instead, he said he was seeking a larger platform to shed light on the issues he sees with Democrats, specifically mentioning current Mayor Karen Bass and Governor Gavin Newsom, claiming they had “failed” him.

When pressed about his ability to confront union support for Bass, Pratt shared that while Bass had stated, “every union is supporting her,” he had encountered union members in the streets who expressed their support for him. “Union leadership has never reflected or connected with the people who have children and the community,” Pratt explained. He articulated a perceived disconnect between union members and politicians, noting that even union-affiliated politicians often don’t relate to the real concerns of community members.

Pratt further emphasized that the leadership within police and fire departments act like “politicians,” pointing out the importance of involving those who are “actually on the ground” in the decision-making processes of the mayor and city council.

“Thank you very much,” Maher responded. “You’re just right about a lot of these things. Honestly, I didn’t know this until I spoke with you today, but you have just the right impatience for this.” He encouraged Pratt to continue his efforts, saying, “Let’s see where the chips fall.”

In a separate conversation on the Alex Marlowe Show, Breitbart News Editor-in-Chief Alex Marlowe commented that Bass remains the favorite to win, largely due to union backing. “We haven’t had a Republican mayor in decades,” he noted, suggesting this scenario is indicative of one-party dominance. He questioned the notion that such control could be seen as beneficial, referencing the struggles faced in cities like Los Angeles.

Following the Pratts’ loss of their home to a wildfire, Pratt has openly criticized Bass and Newsom for their inadequate response. He expressed frustration in a recent post, declaring, “If you don’t vote, I never want to hear you complain about the filth, crime, and decay of Los Angeles ever again,” urging followers to vote or accept the consequences.
