Bill Maher Congratulates Trump on Gaza Peace Deal

Late night host Bill Maher recently extended a nod of approval to President Donald Trump for his role in facilitating the Gaza peace agreement. While speaking on HBO’s “Real Time,” Maher recognized that Trump achieved something many considered improbable.

“You have to give credit where credit is due. A lot of folks tried to make this happen, but he did it,” Maher remarked during his show.

This agreement, finalized earlier this month, marked an end to the long-standing conflict between Israel and Hamas, with Trump’s administration playing a significant role in brokering it.

Despite being a regular critic of Trump, Maher used his characteristic dry humor to acknowledge the president’s diplomatic success. “Two years later, Palestinians are going back to Palestine, hostages are returned to Israel, and everyone is surprised Trump managed to pull it off,” he commented.

He added a quip about Trump’s established actions regarding deporting illegal immigrants, saying, “If there’s one thing he’s good at, it’s sending people back to where they came from.”

In the wake of the peace deal, Hamas released the last remaining hostages and started returning the bodies of those who had been killed. Israel, in turn, pulled back its troops in the Gaza Strip to the agreed-upon boundaries.

Moving forward, Trump announced that mediators would commence work on the next phase of the 20-point peace plan. “This breakthrough we’re celebrating tonight isn’t just about ending the war in Gaza; with God’s help, it’s a new beginning for the entire Middle East,” Trump shared during a summit in Sharm el-Sheikh, Egypt.

Maher humorously noted Trump’s popularity in Israel, stating, “He’s more beloved there than any president before him. He’s captured the hearts of Arabs, and he’s the only thing they like aside from hummus.”
