Fox News Media has promoted Bill Melugin to the position of Congressional Correspondent, a move announced by the network’s President and Editor-in-Chief, Jay Wallace, on Thursday.

Melugin has made the transition to Washington, D.C., where he will report on various Congressional matters, including legislative developments and the political landscape influencing the nation.

According to Wallace, “Bill’s tenacious dedication to uncovering the truth and deep understanding of national issues make him ideally suited to cover the complex world of Congress.”

Prior to this role, Melugin was a correspondent in Los Angeles, gaining national attention for his on-ground reporting during the border crisis.

He expressed enthusiasm about his new role, saying, “Congress is one of the most fascinating and consequential events in journalism, and it is an incredible honor to take on this role and continue to serve our viewers from the Capitol.”

Since joining Fox News Media in 2021, Melugin has focused primarily on immigration issues, spending a considerable amount of time at the southern border from 2021 to 2024.

Additionally, he has covered significant news events, including the California wildfires in 2025, the tragic mass shooting at Robb Elementary School in Uvalde, Texas, and the drowning incident involving Texas National Guardsman Bishop Evans in the Rio Grande.

Melugin has traveled extensively for coverage during the 2024 presidential election and the 2022 midterm elections.

Before his tenure at Fox News Media, he was an investigative reporter for KTTV-TV in Los Angeles, where he earned three local Emmy Awards for his investigative journalism. He has also worked as an anchor and reporter at Fox stations in Charlotte, North Carolina, and El Paso, Texas.

A graduate of Arizona State University’s Walter Cronkite School of Journalism and Mass Communication, Melugin is a two-time recipient of the Golden Mic Award for Best Investigative Journalism from the Southern California Radio & Television News Association.
