Bill O’Reilly Takes a Break Due to Health Issues

This week, Bill O’Reilly shared that he will be stepping away from media appearances for a time due to an undisclosed illness.

The former Fox News anchor, known for hosting “The O’Reilly Factor” for over two decades before his 2017 dismissal related to sexual harassment claims, mentioned he would keep followers updated. It’s quite a surprising shift, given how active he usually is.

“Hello No Spin Nation. I’m sorry but I’m sick. We have great doctors and I’ll fight the good fight,” O’Reilly, 76, expressed in a blog post on Tuesday.

“My fingers are unaffected, so I’ll keep you updated about me, the news cycle, and anything else that’s important. Hopefully, I’ll be back in the saddle soon,” he added, trying to maintain a positive outlook.

A representative for O’Reilly didn’t give a comment when asked about the situation.

Currently, O’Reilly runs “No Spin News” on weekdays at 8 PM ET on TheFirstTV.com and DirecTV, and he often appears on NewsNation.

On Tuesday’s episode, NewsNation host Chris Cuomo mentioned that O’Reilly would not be on his scheduled show, briefly noting, “He’s sick. He’ll be back soon.”

Since leaving Fox News following a New York Times report detailing $13 million settlements with multiple women over several years, O’Reilly has continued to host and produce “No Spin News.”

After the cancellation of his show, O’Reilly expressed disappointment, insisting that the allegations against him were unfounded. He stated, “But that is the unfortunate reality that many of us in the public eye have to accept today.” He has consistently maintained his innocence.

In addition to his broadcasting work, O’Reilly has produced several National Geographic films adapted from his bestselling books, including titles like “Killing Lincoln,” “Killing Kennedy,” and “Killing Jesus.” He’s also set to release a new book titled “Confronting Evil: Appreciating the Worst of the Worst,” which will explore the origins of some of history’s most notorious figures, from Vladimir Putin to Adolf Hitler.
