LinkedIn co-founder Reid Hoffman said he believes President-elect Trump is likely to pursue Vice President Harris for supporting her presidential campaign.
On Monday's episode of British entrepreneur Stephen Bartlett's podcast, Hoffman said: “In response to my efforts to help Harris get elected, there will be repercussions for misdirection and corruption in state institutions. I think there's more than a 50% chance.” “Diary of a CEO”
Mr. Hoffman was an outspoken supporter of Ms. Harris during the campaign, joining other entrepreneurs and billionaires on Business Leaders for Harris, and supporting Ms. Harris' bid for the White House. Encouraged support. Mr. Hoffman was also one of President Biden's largest donors during his campaign.
Mr. Hoffman said there was a good chance of retaliation from the president-elect, citing the possibility of an IRS audit or phone call trying to damage his business prospects. He added that such an action would be “undemocratic and un-American.”
“It could be worse, but I don't want to speculate too much because I don't want to give anyone an idea,” he said on the podcast.
Hoffman also said other business leaders praised his outspokenness and actions in support of Harris, but did not follow suit for fear of retaliation from the president-elect.
“One of the reasons fewer people came out publicly about this this cycle was because President Trump was threatening personal and political retaliation, so it took a certain amount of courage to stand up, and a lot of public commitment. “I think it was because it took courage,” he said.
