Bills Add Mecole Hardman to Practice Squad After Loss
Following the Buffalo Bills’ surprising defeat to the Miami Dolphins on Sunday, the team has signed wide receiver Mecole Hardman to their practice squad. Hardman, who has Super Bowl experience, was previously on the practice squad of the Green Bay Packers before being waived in September.
The Bills, who were unable to acquire additional help for quarterback Josh Allen before the trade deadline, turned to the 27-year-old Hardman to boost their receiving corps. This addition might bring some much-needed excitement, as the team has been looking for a spark.
Hardman’s career highlight came during Super Bowl LVIII, where he caught the game-winning touchdown from Patrick Mahomes in overtime against the San Francisco 49ers. It’s a moment that many fans remember fondly, and perhaps it could inspire the Bills moving forward.
So far this season, the Bills have relied on players like Keon Coleman, Khalil Shakir, Joshua Palmer, and Curtis Samuel as their main receiving threats. However, none have truly stepped up as a top-tier wide receiver.
The team’s struggles were evident in the recent 30-13 loss to the Dolphins, where Shaquille led with seven catches, but much of that came when the game was already out of reach. Shaquille has tallied 45 catches for 457 yards and two touchdowns this season, while tight end Dalton Kincaid follows with 29 catches for 448 yards and four touchdowns.
With this recent setback, the Bills’ record now stands at 6-3. They look to recover against the Tampa Bay Buccaneers next Sunday, who share the same record. Adding Hardman to the mix might just be the boost they need to get back on track.
