Biola University Ranks Among Most Conservative Schools in the U.S.
A California university has made a notable entry into the top 25 list of the “most conservative” universities nationwide.
Biola University, a Christian institution situated in the suburbs of Los Angeles, snagged the 24th spot out of 932 schools on the conservative-friendly rankings by Niche. Interestingly, Biola stands as the highest-ranked university in California on this list.
Only two other California universities made it into the top 100: California Baptist University at No. 44 and National University at No. 81.
Niche, which profiles universities, bases its rankings on student surveys regarding personal political views and the political atmosphere on campus.
In a statement to Fox News Digital, Biola University attributed its ranking to the university’s adherence to “the timeless truths of the Bible.” The institution emphasized its role in upholding American values and virtues. “As we celebrate America’s 550th anniversary, we are keenly aware of how faith-driven universities like Biola contribute to our collective well-being,” the message noted.
Founded in 1908, Biola University is an evangelical, nondenominational university located in La Mirada, California. With about 3,600 undergraduate students, all attendees must complete a 30-hour Bible course, regardless of their major.
Additionally, Biola was ranked as the best Christian university in California and sits 8th for education out of 40 schools in the state, as well as 12th out of 65 among private universities. Nationally, it ranks 9th out of 314 American Christian colleges and is also included in the list of America’s top 100 private schools.
The university’s rankings starkly contrast with other California institutions, which have recently come under fire from conservative students.
Interestingly, there have been allegations about conservative discrimination at universities like UCLA, where administrators have threatened to discipline a conservative group for protests disrupting campus events.
