MSNBC host Joy Reid laments that Black Americans haven’t received enough reparations to “literally, physically” build this country, calling former President Barack Obama’s eight years in office believe that is best for them.
lead issued Her comments during the interview salon talk In a co-authored article with author Dean Obeidallah, he said that black people “literally and physically built this country” and therefore deserve more than a two-term black president.
“To be black in America in 2024 is to have a complete understanding of what is wrong with this country that hates its history and cannot even acknowledge the basics of what was done to its ancestors to this day.” “It means to be in a state of bewildered confusion,” unable to accept any responsibility for the lack that has been inherited throughout their entire existence in this country, and thinking that 60 years of relative freedom is enough. It’s the people,” she said.
Reed then described a series of exaggerated consequences that she feels will occur if critical race theory (CRT) and diversity, equity, and inclusion (DEI) are replaced.

“Now, black people, get out of Harvard. Now, black people, you can’t take loans anymore. Don’t lend $20,000 to each other unless you lend to white men who receive 99 percent of your business funding.” We can’t even do it. We want 100 people,” she said.
Reed also lamented that President Barack Obama and the recognition of holidays such as Juneteenth were a ploy to distract Black Americans from real reparations.
“And then you literally find out that Barack Obama’s two terms as president are your reparations, and Juneteenth, which you already celebrated anyway, is your reparations. “You built this country. You literally, physically built this country, and the attitude of many of your colleagues and fellow citizens was, ‘Shut up and be grateful,'” she said.
